Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins updates Ja Morant's recovery after he is cleared for contact.
Ja Morant has had a hard couple of years. After being suspended many times for detrimental conduct in 2023, the Memphis Grizzlies player suffered a season-ending shoulder injury last season.
However, Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins told SiriusXM NBA Radio that Morant is now entirely prepared to go.
"Unbelievable focus right now," Jenkins remarked. "Obviously, he was cleared for a full-contact exercise the other day,
so he's ready to go. But he has been shut in since his surgery."
Jenkins praised Morant for remaining active in team activities despite his illness.
"Obviously it's tough when you get basketball taken away from you,
that can kind of mess with your mind, mess with your soul," Jenkins went on
"But his ability to stay around the team is phenomenal, finding leadership opportunities, working with the young guys,
guys that were coming into the fold for the very first time in Memphis, trying to get them acclimated, knowing that he could still make a contribution to this team."
