Stranger Things Season 5 Shouldn't Include Eddie Munson

Fans must wait until 2025 to witness Netflix's Stranger Things' final season, but it's impossible not to guess if any old characters will return.

Joseph Quinn hinted in June 2024 that Eddie Munson would appear in Stranger Things season 5. Eddie is a fan favorite with one of the best season 4 plotlines, however he shouldn't return for certain reasons.

Joseph Quinn told Entertainment Tonight regarding Stranger Things' cast and crew in June 2024: "I love them! I want to say hello." When asked about Eddie appearing in the following season, he replied: "I may feel the same way. I may not. No idea! Who knows?"

If Eddie doesn't return for Stranger Things season 5, his death will be more meaningful and realistic. Eddie should have had more plots, but his final character arc is well-written, emotive, and amusing.

A key element of Eddie's character growth was his friendship with underappreciated character Chrissy Cunningham (Grace Van Dien), and since they're both gone

Stranger Things season 5 must conclude Will Byers's (Noah Schnapp) journey, save Hawkins, defeat Vecna, and tell fans what will happen to the main characters.

Eddie is one of Stranger Things' strongest and best-written characters, even though people disagree on several sections of season 5.

Joseph Quinn told Netflix.tudum.com that he's delighted so many fans liked Eddie Munson in Stranger Things season 4.

“There seems to be something in his story that is touching people—being falsely accused, redemption, self-sacrifice, friendship, camaraderie.”

Eddie's plot was so good that changing it in Stranger Things season 5 would be a pity. The Netflix series won't finish with Eddie, but viewers will remember him for risking his life to help his new pals.
